This is a new project that take place in Wallonie Belgium. Initially, three school participated in the project "Hydro-citizen school". The kids explore the water cycle at school (mapping the location of the water in the school), identify our impact and develop a project to preserve water at school (infiltration through creation of gardens, evapotranspiration through creation of garden and ponds, reduction of use of drinking water by collecting rain water....the list can be long! This is done with the school community and water actors in the neighbourhoods. In this case, the Green Map allows people to communicate about the project as it gives visibility to the kids, who feel connected to other schools that do the same thing, somewhere else!

Rain gardens are the first line of defence against toxins leaking into local watersheds. Gardens of marshy, native plants attract pollinators with their blooms and filter polluted runoff with their roots, making sure that no chemicals end up in urban streams and rivers!💧Together we can protect our watersheds and generations of salmon to come!
