The Grand Saconnex is close to Geneva. It has grown very fast these last years (+25% of population). In order to develop actions about sustainable development and better integrate this new population in the community, the local authorities has launched an Agenda 21 program. Creating a Green Map was one of the ways chosen to reach these aims. The whole population was involved in the project. From March to June 2007, several workshops have been set up for and with the students. Thus, different schools of the city have participated to the creation of the map and to the data research (the international school of Geneva, the school Pommier and some kids from the A.Chavannes College).
Inhabitants, scouts and associations have also been integrated in the project and have provided lot of information.
