November 2007: Over 100 primary and post-primary students from all over Galway city have been involved in creating a Youth Green Map for the City. This map highlights the places in Galway city that are most important to these students. These include best walks around the city, youth friendly places and popular recreation and sports areas.

The Youth Green Map for Galway is part of a larger project being undertaken by the Department of Geography, NUI, Galway in association with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Galway City Council.

The launch of the Youth and Community Greenmaps of Galway will take place in the City Museum on Friday the 23rd of November at 10 am. All are welcome to attend, view and contribute to the map that the people of Galway created!
