Carlos Martinez, Green Map System's Latin American Liaison and Office Manager, became a US citizen today!

This Colombian-born environmental administrator was also in today's New York Times, thanks to his healthy green habit of bicycling to work, then bringing his bike inside to store safely at the office.

第二次的课程上面，我们大家一起学习了绿地图的icon，感觉很有意思。花了一个多小时，一起学习了125个。越看越觉得这些图标很形象，也越记得清楚了，不过有的英语还不认识哦，看来得要好好的学习英语了。
我们的第三次课程将要进行实地的探访，我们已经将学校划分成了6个版块，每组2-3人进行调查。后天就要出去调查了，期待我们的好消息吧。加油！

島田探検隊の第２弾校外学習を行いました。ここ２，３日で師走らしい寒さになり、防寒着に身をつつんでの出発です。今日は教務の原田先生が一緒に出かけてくださいました。６箇所のポイントでメモをとりましたが、子どもたちからいろいろな声があがりました。「ここからは領家がみえる。」「海が見えてる」「川に夏よりたくさん鳥がいる」気がつくと陽がさすところが暖かく感じるほどまで気温も上がっていましたread more »

In November, the process of updating the Icons went into finalization mode. Designer Risa Ishikawa continued development from Japan, and I went to San Francisco, where Ken Josephson and Maeve Lydon of Victoria and I worked in the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge! We're now in the 'home stretch' and will soon post a review set for Mapmakers to talk about locally over the holiday break this month. Many thanks, once again to all who contributed to this process!

2007年12月1日，我们的武汉绿地图项目正式启动了。我们华中农业大学有13个同学加入到了这个项目小组中来，一起努力推动绿地图在武汉地区的发展。针对于目前的状况，我们首先需要的是学习绿地图的一些基本的知识，对其有一定的了解后才能更好的运作。我们相信“磨刀不误砍柴工”，大家齐心协力，加油！
我们初步计划，在这个学期，我们先出一份华中农业大学的绿色生活地图，做一个初步的尝试。绿协加油！

島田探検隊の校外学習第２弾を１２月６日に行います。今回は教務主任の原田先生が同行してくださいます。島田小学校の西側方面に出かけます。前期の総合学習で３回訪れた島田川方面です。あらかじめリサーチ済みの数箇所のチェックポイントの中から現地でのメモポイントを今日の学習中に話合いました。メモをとったりじっくり見るためには安全確保が最優先です。メモポイントの近くには、クラス全員がすわってメモをとれるくらいの安全なスペースを確保できるところを考え選ぶのも、実は子どもたちの勉強の一つです。read more »

１１月２８日（水）
昨日の探検を振り返りながら自分たちでデザインしたカードに気づきを書いていきました。１つのポイントについてグリーンマップのアイコンのどれにあてはまるのか、グループで考え次に再びクラス全体で検討していきます。なかなか時間のかかるカード記入です。思いはあってもなかなか文章表現は難しいのですが、アイコンに置き換えるとスッキリみえてきます。

１１月２７日（火）
曇りではありましたが、晩秋のさわやかな風がふく中グリーンマップ作り探検の第一弾として、校区内北側の散策にでかけました。１時間半という限られた時間内に全てをメモできないため、前日に４箇所の必須ポイントをみんなでしぼりこんでおきました。探検に使うものは児童が考えたシートに少し手を加えたもの、７班に分かれての調査のため地図は７部用意し、デジカメは白石のものを使用しました。安全確保のために特別支援学級担任の小林先生にもついてきていただきました。read more »

It's an exciting time at Green Map: we've just started work on our latest project - the Global Green Map. GGM is an interactive open world map that will connect people of all backgrounds with local resources and best practices for sustainable living. Scheduled to go live in mid-2008, this multi-lingual Google Map-based compendium will display the full range of green living, nature, social and cultural sites already appearing on hundreds of published Green Maps alongside those contributed by global content partners and the wider public.read more »

ブログをご覧になられている皆様、初めまして。
このたびグリーンマップに参加することになった光市立島田小学校３年２組です。市内音楽祭参加の猛練習の中、落ち着いてマップ作りの活動を開始できていなかったのですが、今日は２８名みんなでシンボルマークを考えました。２８のシンボルマークがずらりと黒板にはりだされ、話し合いと投票の結果２つのデザインが最後まで残りました。話し合いがまとまらず、決選は後日となりましたが、みんなの意気込みを感じる話合いでした。

The Tokyo Cycling Green Map was created to encourage development of a bike lane network and safer riding by Urban Ecology Tokyo and volunteers since 2006. The first printed citywide version was published in January 2007. There is also an interactive online edition in Japanese or in English that anyone can add green sites to and use to get involved in creating a better environment for cycling in this metropolis.

We're so pleased to share the news that the Tokyo Cycling Green Map won a GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2007 in the category of Communications - this is the most honorable design award in Japan! read more »
