Director of GreenThumb, Carlos is a former staff member, mapmaker, on the board of directors and part of the International Mapmakers Advisory Group.
Carlos is the Director of NYC Parks GreenThumb, the largest community gardening program in the nation. He is also the co-founder of Hibridos Collective, an interdisciplinary collaborative working to re-envision spaces through community-based arts practices. By integrating his artistic practice and professional background, Carlos advocates for access and activation of public spaces as platforms for social change. He holds a B.S from Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira in Environmental Administration and is pursuing a Master’s in Urban Planning at Hunter College.
