We are a 150 acre croft in the Cairngorms National Park where we work with nature to grow our own food and produce pasture and tree leaf fed Highland Beef, rare breed pork, pastured eggs and honey.

We are a growing group of nearly 80 people who are interested in having allotments at the end of Aviemore Community Hospital. We have set up a charitable trust and have four trustees on the board. Our aim is to develop a plot of land into at least 20 allotments initially, so that local families can grow their own vegetables and fruit. We are motivated in this initiative by creating space for people to be more sustainable in their food security, not relying so much on imported goods, and also by allowing people an opportunity to engage in an activity which is very beneficial for their mental as well as physical wellbeing.

We utilise therapeutic gardening to help people with mental health illnesses and disorders. We are creating VGC as a stepping stone for invertebrates, to aid ranging and migration under a changing climate. We produce food for donation during the cost of living crisis. Finally, we provide education for students requiring supported learning.
