The Dunoon Men's Shed is a charitable organisation that aims to improve the health, well-being, and social needs of older men through a membership system. Memberships cost £20 per year and there is a daily fee of £3 when members visit which goes towards facilities. The Men's Shed is proud to involve itself in many community projects in which members can get involved or you can work on personal projects.

Eco Health Store is a natural health shop that has a great selection of supplements, health foods, environmentally friendly household cleaning products, personal care products, and much more. They also have a refill station of cleaning products from Ecover and Bio-D alongside Faith in Nature’s shampoo, shower gel and body wash. You can also bring your own container to refill nearly 200 foodstuffs that they sell loose in-store to reduce plastic waste. 

George. H. Currie Blacksmiths were established in 1851 and are one of the oldest family-run businesses in Scotland. They offer a wide range of services from diamond drilling, blacksmithing, forging and welding, wrought iron gates, and repairs.  

Gibson’s Electrical is an independent third-generation family-run business that has operated at their Argyll Street address for over 70 years now. Gibson’s offers a wide range of electrical appliances including microwaves, satellite dishes, televisions, radios, and much more. They even stock over 3000 Scottish CDs and DVDs.

Historic Kilmun accepts donations of second hand books and sells these to raise funds for this heritage project and the upkeep of the historic building.

John Tyre & Sons is a long-established family business with Scott Tyre overseeing the blacksmithing projects with his staff. Scott's brother-in-law, Guy Pate, runs the fully equipped garden machinery and small plants repair workshop with a wide range of plant and tool hire. You can find homewares such as China, jewellery, crystal, paintings/photos, books, and small items of furniture at the Wee Shop. They even accept bedding that is kept in the back of the store, so just ask and they can take you in and show what is available. You can also find a selection of great fabrics and wool for whatever project you may have and an abundance of knitting needles and books.
