Governors island is open year round, so dress for the weather and enjoy! With an academic climate center in the future, there are already terrific programs that connect community, food and climate action, including Earth Matter. the Billion Oysters, Swale, the Circular Manufactory, GrowNYC and more.  There is an official Picnic Point on the south end of the island, but there are many great spots for a picnic.  There are places to buy food on the island too.
