Saugerties Green Map

An epic location for flowing waters!  Although it's not a natural waterfall, the dam is located on the Esopus Creek, a 65 mile-long tributary of the Hudson River. "The creek flows over the Cantine Dam, creating a dramatic scene as it turns into a sinuous horseshoe curve. The dam played a role in generating power for early automated machines in the area." Formerly the site of Lynch's Marina, this bend in the creek is the navigable gateway to the mighty Hudson River, with exciting  boats, birds and activity.
