Climate Week 2025

We are trying to show a better alternative for gas powered vehicles on Governors Island.  

We are trying to show the visitors where construction is 

How does the collective retreats impact governors island as a whole? I think that in the long term continuous construction on that area could increase emissions on the island. Already right now they announced updates for the area, adding more construction to the surrounding area. Probably making this section of the island louder and more polluted than it needs to be. 

Bringing awareness to construction on governors island and how it distracts students and adds unesscesary pollution to the island.

I want to show that resources like the earth matter farm could help reduce climate change.

Car-Free?

People can make art that draws attention to climate issues, and people can come together and discuss solutions.

The Lavender Field helps the environment by encureging pollenators and raising awareness in gardens. 

Picnic Point provides seating areas, nice views, and rentable grills for visitor use. Its away from Island construction and loud noises making it a nice point to stop, eat, rest, and take in the views.

Pier 101 is open to the public and its calming. Its a beautiful place to see the water and it draws people to governors island.
