Where?

The Bowery Residents Committee was formed in 1971 by a small group of the Bowery's less-fortunates to assist the homeless, poor, and struggling, and it exists today as a community center for local senior citizens.

Their Golden Age Center is in the park at Delancey Street so BRC has a close relationship to M'finda Kalunga Community Garden, with whom it shares many volunteer programs and staff. BRC's main location is on The Bowery, one block away.

A linear city park, 6 blocks long, with recreation, relaxation, regeneration and resiliency. The active community garden has a wonderful website about the park, which is a beacon to this diverse community. Public restrooms at Stanton and Hester streets. This park has many issues, some of which are described in this recent New York Times article -  in 2023, fresh attention is being paid to this community resource.
