Boyukshor is the second largest lake of Azerbaijan and largest on Absheron Peninsula. It is located in the center of the Absheron peninsula, on the boundaries of Binagadi, Sabunchu and Narimanov raions of the city of Baku.
Oil-contaminated lands have been cleared in the area. The length of the coastal walkway here is 2,500 kilometers. Sports and children's playgrounds have been built here, and thousands of trees and ornamental shrubs have been planted, including jogging and cycling. The complex of fountains installed inside the lake not only pleases the guests of our city, but also enriches it with oxygen to improve the quality of the lake's water. An automated control system has been set up to manage water level and quality. Special equipment has been installed to ensure the continued cleanliness and protection of the lake.
