Where?

Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre sits at the heart of Drylaw offering a beautiful calm space to meet neighbours, learn new skills, keep fit, eat good food and make new friends. The garden surrounding our centre provides fresh organic herbs and vegetables as well as fruit from our orchards. We are proud of our systematic composting bays which provide fresh soil for all our food crops.

We aim to build communities through various events, workshops and classes, responding to seasonal and cultural highpoints and community need. We are at the start of a process to increase our sustainability and are keen to learn from our friends and colleagues across the network. Our environmental pathway has started with the garden, and we aim to bring more and more sustainable practices indoors as we build on previous experience.

We also are aware of food insecurity issues in the area and provide a grocery sharing shelf as well as a sharing freezer which is restocked weekly with handmade individual meals. Anyone can come along to take dried food goods from our Sharing Shelf which has been generously funded by Sainsbury's.

As a charity we are grateful for support from OneCity Trust, People's Postcode Lottery, Big Lottery, Plum Trust, EVOC, D'Oyly Carte Charitable Trust and Edinburgh City Council.
