Dunoon Community Hospital - Put health care at the heart of the community by investing in Dunoon Community Hospital

Where?

Dunoon Hospital provides an essential and accessible health care facility in the heart of the town. The building includes an Accident & Emergency department, Cowal Hospice and the local community health team.

Although the building is well used, years of underinvestment mean that the building and land around the site is underutilized and looks neglected in places.

Local Place Plan

  • Action the plans made to to invest in the hospital site and relocate GP provision into the facility. Include third sector health and social care providers in discussions to ensure a joined up approach to health and social care in the community.
  • Consider how the grounds could be used to improve health and wellbeing, for example by investing in planting and community growing projects.
  • Develop improved links between the hospital site and Dunoon stadiumto provide a joined up approach to health through sports and recreation.
  • Improve bike storage and recycling opportunities.
  • Improve pathways up to the site to make access easier for pedestrians.
