This project: river restoration, peatland, pond or wetland restoration

The Dighty Restoration Project is a river and wetland restoration project on a small river that runs through the north of Dundee. It aims to restore ecological function by re-meandering straightened channels, reinstating wetlands and replacing artificial banks with more naturalised forms. Following feasibility studies and community consultation, construction work is expected to begin in 2029, with the aim of restoring 4.5 km of the burn to support biodiversity, improve habitat condition and reinstate natural river and wetland processes.
