The goal of this effort is to divert food waste and landscape waste form the La Marqueta Retail Market, Urban Garden Center and other local participants that would normally get trucked out to the landfill. Other goal include educating the public on the benefits of composting and creating a "green" network with community gardeners and educational gardeners.
