We are based in Northmavine, Shetland. We aim to make Northmavine a better place to live work and visit. Like many development trusts we do a huge variety of projects to bring economical and social benefits to our community.
Over the years we have done a number of projects related to climate change such as developing the Polycrub - a storm proof polytunnel to extend growing seasons and utilise redundant salmon farm pipes, run a recycling centre, purchased an electric van for local shop deliveries, purchased 5 ebikes for use by the local community and tourists, install solar panels at our community shop and recycling centre. Charlotte has also completed Climate Solutions training organised by Voluntary Action Shetland and created a Climate Action Plan. We think it is important to create links with other organisations who are also working with communities and climate change.
