  Lochaber Environmental Group works to preserve, conserve, and restore the environment of Lochaber for the benefit of the local communities as we transition to a low carbon economy. We help to advance the knowledge of Lochaber residents in the study of the environment and sustainability, facilitating training, and sharing advice & information. Our Objectives To help and encourage everyone in Lochaber to reduce their impact on the environment Promoting the preservation, conservation and restoration of the natural environment of Lochaber for the benefit of the community Providing information and training about the environment and about ways to live in a more sustainable manner Help and encourage everyone in Lochaber to live more sustainably.

Stronsay Development Trust's Stronsay Energy and Waste Matters project aimed to reduce waste and increase rates of recycling and energy efficiency. The project included opening a small recycling centre in the main village of Whitehall, plus a toolshare shed and a clothing swap scheme. Activities also included home energy efficiency advice and creation of cardboard briquettes for heating.
