Where?

With over 52 acres and 10,000 different plants from all over the world, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is one of the premier sites to see while in Brooklyn. While exploring the BBG, one can come across a number of specialty gardens that range from the Japanese-Hill-and-Pond-Garden, the Children's Garden, the Native Flora Garden, the Cranford Rose Garden, the Alice Recknagel Ireys Fragrance Garden, and the Steinhardt Conservatory. While containing a number of specialty gardens, the BBG also hosts a number of child friendly/educational events that range from promoting gardening to educating people about eating greener in the Green Apple! They also have their own BBG Library for researchers wanting to perform further research! For a complete list of their events, tours, and services, please visit their comprehensive website!

NYC Energy

Featuring climate smart energy choices and energy efficiency projects all across NYC! We were originally inspired to map energy in NYC by the Great Northeast Blackout of 2003, and published our first printed map on the topic in 2006. A continually evolving process, this new Open Green Map includes the best of the sites as of 2013. Want to help us add more to it?  Click Suggest a Site at the top!
