This award-winning museum is named after Glasgow’s patron saint who brought the Christian faith to Scotland in the sixth century.
The museum is a haven of tranquility in a busy city & its galleries are filled with works of art & artifacts that explore the importance of religion in people’s lives across the world & across time.
The building in which the museum is housed was designed in the Scottish baronial style & was intended to reflect the architecture of the Bishops’ Castle, the site which the museum occupies.

The accessible toilet is located on the right as you enter through the accessible entrance.
- Assistance dogs
Guide & assistance dogs are welcome, & a bowl of water can be provided.
- Hearing loop
There is a hearing assistance system. If you use British Sign Language, you can watch a British Sign Language introduction to St. Mungo Museum of Religious Life.
- Wheelchair [& other wheeled supports] access
There is wheelchair & pram access to all public areas using the lifts & there are free wheelchairs available to hire at reception.
