Welcome to the Glasgow Green Map - a one stop shop for everything green and local in the city of Glasgow, Scotland, UK - the Dear Green Place.
This map has been created to enable local communities across the greater Glasgow area to share their favourite natural, cultural and green living resources.
The map was originally developed in the run up to UN COP26 Climate Talks which were held in Glasgow in November 2021. It is aimed at people that come to Glasgow for COP26
Now the talks are over it ha become a legacy available to people who live, work and visit the Dear Green Place.
It is really easy to add features to the map - just visit one of the campaigns below and add suggested sites:

The Glasgow Green Map was originally developed by Stop Climate Chaos Scotland (SCCS) and Glasgow Eco Trust as part of SCCS's Climate Fringe project.
The map is currently facilitated by Glasgow Eco Trust as part of the Glasgow Climate Action Hub which is funded by the Scottish Government Climate Action Hub fund.

Alexandra Park is situated in Denniston and is a popular spot with locals. It has community gardens, a play park for kids, duck pond, a golf course, sports fields and plenty of grassy slopes to sit for a picnic.

Located in the vibrant Candleriggs area of Glasgow, Artrez Cafe is a top-rated pizza restaurant, boasting a perfect customer rating of 5.0. The establishment is renowned for its diverse menu, featuring a variety of paninis like the Steak, Red Pepper, Onion and Cheese Panini, and pizzas such as the Tomato, Mozzarella, Ham, Mushrooms, and Black Olives Pizza. Popular dishes among patrons include the Cheesecake and the uniquely topped pizzas. The restaurant sees its peak popularity around midday, making it a favoured lunch spot in the area.

The Barclay Curle Complex is a famous Glasgow landmark situated between South Street and the River Clyde. It was built in early 1920’s and designed by Karl Bernhad and John Galt based on a famous Berlin Turbine House design.
A small and often overlooked park in the East End, Barrowland Park contains Jim Lambie's "Album Pathway"" - a paved walkway that pays tribute to all the musical acts that have played at Glasgow's famous Barrowland concert venue.
Born from the Battlefield Community Street Party 2009, this group has been making its way through a long to do list for helping make Battlefield an even better place than it is already.
Located on Glasgow's Southside near Strathbungo Cross, Bawn is an 'Ethical Textile Atelier', offering textiles by the metre (or 1/2 metre!), haberdashery goods & supplies (including clothing patterns with a contemporary emphasis), books on sewing / textiles / fibre art, fabric remnants (avoiding waste that's common in the textiles industry), & in-shop events.
This extensive park (68.4 Hectares/ 169 Acres) has many features and facilities. It boasts formal gardens and open parkland in which to relax and take in views over the city. Quiet contemplation can also be had at the House for an Art Lover and for the more active and adventurous there are extensive sports facilities.

Small & friendly indie coffee shop serving coffee, cakes, & toasties. Vegan options available. All produce is sourced locally, supporting other small businesses, including locally-baked goods (some vegan!) & a bespoke espresso blend from The Good Coffee Cartel (based in Kinning Park, Glasgow - also listed here on the Green Map!). Beans are available to buy for home brewing in reusable, infinitely-recyclable tins, with a small discount available on refill.
Bowling Green Together is a by and for BAME majority-led community organisation in Pollokshields (South Glasgow) created and formed by local residents with a vested interest in our community's health. Bowling Green Together was created in 2022 through a grassroots campaign led by local residents to keep Pollokshield's community spaces engaged, inclusive, and healthy. Bowling Green Together has been a community long before it was an organisation. Now with intentionality we are growing more resilient, healthy, and empowered together.
This community garden was started by a group of neighbours in Maryhill to claim waste land and give it a real purpose for the community. They are slowly growing a variety of veg and fruits in the garden, but are always looking for hands to collaborate and help develop more projects in the site.
