Knocknagael Ltd is a community charity looking to secure a Community Asset Transfer for the smiddy field part of the Scottish Government owned Knocknagael Bull Farm. The aim of the Knocknagael community Growing project is to develop the site into a green hub including allotments, food growing activities and an outdoor area for the benefit of the community:
• Creation of an allotment site
• Provision of community growing areas, including a community orchard, to provide a greater social and cohesive spirit
• Creation of an outdoor area for walking and outdoor activities in a safe environment, and proving wildlife habitat in an increasingly urbanised area
• Provide growing and training space, available for different organisations and dedicated growing space for schools
• Potential for future community growing area to develop a Community Supported Agriculture project
The vision for the site is: A green hub that will get more people in our community spending time outdoors and growing and enjoying local produce. The charity has been formed to benefit the community comprising people, usually resident in Inverness (as defined by the Inverness city local authority electoral wards), but aims to provide a space and opportunities for all.
