Where?

The Association of Northern Trails Scotland (ANTS) - who also operate under the name of The John o’ Groats Trail (JOGT) - maintains, develops and promotes long distance walking in the Far North of Scotland. ANTS is a registered charity (SC049061) and is responsible for the John o' Groats Trail, which runs for 147 miles between Inverness and John O'Groats along the east coasts of Sutherland and Caithness, and through rural Easter Ross. It passes along cliff tops and foreshore for much of the route, giving walkers access to the beautiful coastline brimming with nature, history and incredible views. The trail has also serves to connect the far north of Scotland into the wider Scottish and UK long-distance trail networks, including the famous ‘LEJOG’ route, as well as the Great Glen Way. The Trail attracts both local walkers and tourists, and so promotes a slew of both mental and physical well-being opportunities, as well as supporting the economic landscape of the far north of Scotland through the development of climate-friendly 'slow tourism'.
