We are a community centre serving the West Ardnamurchan community, our aims & objectives are:
- To provide, in the interests of social welfare, facilities for recreation and other leisure time activity available to the public at large within the area of West Ardnamurchan (being the area covered by the West Ardnamurchan Community Council) with a view to improving their conditions of lite
- To advance education and to promote training programmes and opportunities for the benefit of the residents of the area
- To relieve poverty among the residents of West Ardnamurchan.
- To promote trade and industry, for the benefit of the general public.
- To promote, establish and operate other schemes of a charitable nature for the benefit of residents of West Ardnamurchan
This year especially we have really been looking at our impact on the climate, we are currently fundraising to make the centre’s energy more environmentally friendly and have undergone an energy efficiency assessment to help us achieve our goals. We are very keen to do our bit within the community and help people reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible especially given the financial climate we’re in right now. We would like to go much further and offer the community much more in terms of educational resources and skill building days and have seen other centres and village halls run successful events this way. We are 2 hours west from Fort William with just 1 bus a day in and out of the village it would be wonderful to extend our offer to the community.
