Our values are; sustainability, care, connection, inclusion and accessibility, responsibility and support.
Our vision is to create a biodiverse greenspace which is accessible to all and promotes wellbeing and health. Create this project by using small local businesses in a sustainable way, keeping in mind environmental impact and longevity of the created space. Provide habitat for wildlife. Provide education, rest, relaxation, inspiration and enjoyment for the community, our patients and families and our staff. Encourage participation, togetherness and inclusion during design, creation and maintenance of the greenspace. Collaborate with local networks, community interest groups and charities. Employ a garden facilitator or horticultural therapist to maintain this project long-term and provide green health and educational activities on site.
As healthcare professionals based within Children's Services at Raigmore Hospital we have the go ahead from NhsHighland Board and Raigmore Hospital Estates to develop greenspace into gardens and have network support from Incredible Edibles RSPB wildlife Explorer Group, Raigmore Community Residents Association, Highland Good Food Partnership, Highland Healthcare for Climate Action, Friends of the Birnie Centre, the CAMH's and Paediatric Management Team and the Morven House/ Birnie & Pheonix Centre Building User Group.
We recognise and embrace with passion the connection of wellbeing and health support and green health. The importance of community inclusion, engaging people in climate change mitigation and protecting wildlife, biodiversity in taking action to inspire others.
