The North-West Community Pantry was established by the DRC Youth Project to provide young people and their families with access to fresh and healthy food at an affordable price.
It is stocked with produce from Fareshare, which redistributes quality surplus food to community groups in the North-West of Glasgow. This partnership enables them to provide members of the community with a wide selection of fresh fruit and veg, baked goods, tinned food and frozen products which would previously have gone to waste.
Each visit to the pantry costs £3, which guarantees each member a minimum of 10 items (equivalent to the value of around £15).
