During a very windy and stormy night in January this year we had a section of roughcasting fall off the outside of our house.
Have you observed the weather, climate, or natural environment at this place changing over time?
We have only been here two years so unable to comment on change over time.
Have you done anything to prepare for or address climate and weather changes at this place?
We have planted trees in the hope that it will provide shelter and protection from the wind in future as well as soaking up the ground water. We hope this will turn the land into viable pasture. It is quite water logged at the minute. Over 200 trees planted (approx £300). We planted different species of trees to encourage biodiversity and wildlife.
We want to drain the land properly in the future. We also wish to better prepare our roof for future storms. We have not done any of this yet due to lack of funding. The building work for replacing the roughcasting is booked in for this year.
