On Friday 8th September, the whole of our street experienced a power cut which was as a result of an extreme deluge of rain, which filled the junction box with water causing a short circuit that set the plastic coatings of the wires on fire. The power was out for 5 hours, with a significant number of SSE staff deployed to fix the issue.
Have you observed the weather, climate, or natural environment at this place changing over time?
Yes, there have definitely been more frequent and extreme rainfall events since we moved here in November 2017.
