In the grounds of the community  hub on Kirk Street are several raised beds made from pallets and other recycled materials. These are used to grow produce for the food bank and provide an opportunity for staff, volunteers and clients to enjoy spending time outside. Not solely a public library, Giffnock Library is also a Heritage Centre, & home to the Maguire Collection - a collection of oil paintings by the famous Scottish painter, John Elliot Maguire (1866–1920). The collection constitutes the core of East Renfrewshire Council's painting holdings, & was donated to East Renfrewshire Council's Heritage Service by the artist's grandson.

Known colloquially as the 'Squiggly Bridge' because it makes a slight 'S' shape when viewed from above, the Tradeston footbridge is a pedestrian bridge that crosses the River Clyde, linking the Anderston area (on the North bank of the river) with Tradeston (on the South bank of the river).

With three screens exclusively showing specialised cinema, Glasgow Film Theatre is Glasgow’s centre for film-lovers. Built in 1939, originally called the Cosmo, GFT is a time-capsule of Art Déco architecture & an era when Glaswegians attended the cinema an average of one time per week. At the same time, through renovations & refurbishment, GFT is today a thoroughly modern venue.

Led by the work of artist Eleanora Jaroszynska, in collaboration with Friends of Garnethill Green Spaces (FRoGGS), Garnethill Bread oven is a community project aimed to empower the local community to gather around the ancient practice of making wood-fired bread, as well as providing the opportunity to learn traditional building skills during the oven's construction.

Wing Hong Elderly Group (also known as Wing Hong Centre / Wing Hong Chinese Elderly Centre) is a charity organisation, a group established with the aim of enhancing the quality of life for the Chinese elderly based in the Glasgow area & promoting equal opportunities for Chinese elders in accessing social, health, welfare, & housing services.

Dear Green (a reference to Glasgow, which is often referred to as the 'Dear Green Place' ['glas' means 'green' / 'grey-green' in Scottish Gaelic]) is a local coffee roasters who roast specialty coffee with passion, ethics, & good vibes at the centre of all they do.

Charity shop whose proceeds benefit the Oxfam organisation, offering a wide variety of secondhand books. From fiction to non-fiction to vintage books, Oxfam bookshops are famous for their amazing finds!

Cycling Scotland is the nation’s cycling organisation, a Scottish Charity working in partnership with other organisations, & with funding from Transport Scotland, to help create an environment for everyone in Scotland to cycle easily & safely.  

Located just to the north of Glasgow City Centre, the Lambhill Stables Community Garden is bordered by the historic Forth & Clyde Canal on one side & Possil Marsh Nature Reserve on the other.

Located just to the north of Glasgow City Centre, on the banks of the historic Forth & Clyde Canal, the award-winning Lambhill Stables Café at the Canal is the heart of Lambhill Stables, & is run almost entirely by a team of loyal & dedicated volunteers. They focus on providing simple yet healthy food at accessible prices & they use fruit & vegetables from their extensive community garden, whenever possible.

The Sandy Road Community Garden features raised beds & communal growing spaces for members. The project is led by a committee of dedicated volunteers, & was set up with support from Partick Housing Association & the NHS.

A beautiful community garden which has been built by volunteers & is now enjoyed by local residents & visitors alike. Run by Heart of Scotstoun (HoS) Ltd. (a registered charity), the community garden is part of Heart of Scotstoun community centre which also has events & a café (link to the other Heart of Scotstoun listing here on Glasgow Green Map, below).

Woodlands Community Garden opened in 2010, occupying a vacant site in West Princes Street. Since then, it has become an important local space where people make new friends & feel part of the community. It’s also a great place to unwind from the everyday stresses & strains of city life. Each year, around 50 households grow their own fruit, vegetables & herbs in the garden’s raised beds.

A not-for-profit cooperative secondhand clothing shop in Glasgow's Southside, supporting the work of the Glad Foundation (link below) - which is also supported by the Glad Café, a separate listing here on Glasgow Green Map (link also below!)

Food bank for pets run by Canine Campus Rescue. Collects & distributes to pets in need of additional food support in Scotland, collecting food treats & bedding for rescue dogs & dogs whose owners are experiencing crisis.
